The Power of Expectation

The Power of Expectation

Proverbs 23:18 - Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long. For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

Friends, the bible tells us that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off. Have you ever seen someone who places an order at a fast food restaurant but leaves without picking up the order? After a POWERFUL church service where MANY prayers, praises, seed, etc were sown we have need to be expectant. The bible says if we obey and serve God we would spend our days in prosperity and our years in pleasure. So there is absolutely nothing wrong in expecting a harvest from God if you serve Him with all your heart and soul and are obedient to his command to pay your tithes and offerings. An expectant mother goes shopping and prepares a nursery in anticipation of the baby. If you are expecting God to bless you with a life partner, I suggest you start saving some money in anticipation of God’s answer to your prayer.

In the book of Acts, the church prayed for Peter who was wrongfully thrown in Jail but when Peter showed up in their midst they thought he was a ghost (Acts 12:5-17). They never thought God might have answered their prayers! Friends, we do not need those kinds of people praying for us. God is a God that answers by fire. He said in the bible that before we pray he has answered and that while we are speaking he has heard us. We need to put on the garment of expectation. The woman with the issue of blood was expectant of a miracle. She purposed in her heart to touch the helm Jesus’ garment expecting a miracle and her faith made her whole! The bible tells us the needy shall not always be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever (Psalm 9:18). David expected from God:

Psalms 62:5 - My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

The bible says the silver and gold belongs to God and a cattle upon a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). The bible also says God shall supply ALL our needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. As a Christian, we are descendants of Abraham and God told Abraham that all his seed will be blessed.

Wait upon God: from him comes your salvation. He only is your rock and salvation; he is your defense; Do not be greatly moved (Psalm 62:1).

Friends, eye hath not seen nor ears heard nor has it entered into the heart of man the things God has prepared for those that love him. Do you love God? Then be expectant of all the great things He has in store for you. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that the anointing of expectation would come mightily upon you. As you wait on the Lord in high expectation, I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that this scripture will be y our testimony:

Psalms 40:1 - I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

Be Blessed in Jesus’ mighty name.
